Everything reception repeats daily

City Notes

Transport, markets, walks, and late food. Nobody pays to be listed here, and we take nothing from anywhere we mention.

Getting here and getting about

From the airport

Airport train to Central, then tram 12 to Ankerplass. Forty minutes door to door, runs until half past midnight.

By car

Possible but pointless. The quay is permit-only; the nearest garage is eight minutes away and charges by the hour.

Ferries

Island ferry every hour from the pier opposite, 07:00 to 21:00. Ten minutes each way and worth doing once.

On foot

The strip, the market, the museum, and both theatres are inside a fifteen-minute walk. You will not need transport again.

Three walks

25 minutes

Sea wall and back

Out past the fish market, along the wall to the light, and back through the lanes. Windy in winter, perfect at dusk.

1 hour

Old town circuit

Uphill through the merchants' streets to the church terrace, then down the steps behind the concert hall.

Half a day

Island crossing

Ferry across, coast path to the far jetty, coffee at the hut, ferry back. Take a jacket even in July.

Eating and opening times

Roughly, and subject to the season

If you are out past midnight and hungry, the counter in our galley is open until two. It is cold food, but it is there and it costs nothing.

We have no commercial relationship with any venue on the strip. Nothing on this page recommends gambling, and none of it is advice about odds, systems, or outcomes.
